Health Commisssion
Overview
The Catholic Health Commission in Masvingo, is dedicated to improving health outcomes in all local communities. It oversees all catholic Healthcare Facilities under the Catholic Diocese of Masvingo. In doing so, the Commission supports the implementations of health programs offered by the healthcare centers through parish and institutions, focusing on quality care, home based support done by the Village health care workers alleviating suffering. The Mission aligns with Christ’s healing Ministry and involves collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Childcare, NGOs, and other partners to address health challenges which are and not limited to Maternal and Child Care, HIV and AIDS, TB and Chronic Illnesses. They also place emphasis on primary health care facilities which serve as the first point of contact for many people. Health Care services provided is regardless of one’s creed, nationality, social or political convictions as well as mental or physical appearance. While not registered as a welfare organization we strive to safeguard, promote the wellbeing of individuals and families by ensuring dignity, compassion, and equitable access to quality, safe and affordable health services in every service provided.

Functions of the Board
The function of the Diocesan Medical Board shall be:
- To propose, implement and evaluate the Diocesan Health Policy
- To recommend candidates suitable for the post of Doctor, Matron, Tutor, Sister in charge and E.O. Health to the Bishop.
- To propose and approve major projects and expansions of the Hospitals and Clinics
- To serve as a board of appeal for aggrieved personnel within health institutions.
