Education Commission
Overview
The Education Secretary is a Commission operating within the Catholic Diocese of Masvingo, tasked with overseeing both academic and faith formation in Catholic educational institutions across the Diocese. Its responsibilities include developing and implementing diocesan education policies that align with Catholic doctrine and national standards, as well as advising the Diocese on educational matters and emerging trends.
The Commission supervises all Catholic schools within the Diocese, including primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, through regular school visits and evaluations to ensure quality, compliance, and the integration of Catholic teachings into school curricula. It also promotes co-curricular activities that foster community engagement, service, and spiritual growth, contributing to the holistic development of students.
In carrying out its mandate, the Education Secretary collaborates closely with the Bishop, priests, religious sisters, Catholic commissions, educators, and parents to uphold the mission of Catholic education, which emphasizes the harmonious development of both knowledge and spirituality.
