Chatagwi Primary School
Historical Background
Chatagwi is a Catholic primary school. It is located in ward 13 Muzhanjire ranch under chief Neshuro. It was opened in 2002 to cater for resettled families.
The Catholic Diocese of Masvingo took over from MRDC after parents through the SDC requested for assistance. The diocese under Sekuru Bhasera advised council that they were interested in taking over the school. The council agreed. The acting Head Mr Tshabalala T had resigned due to economic challenges. Mr Gwenzi Jeremiah was appointed acting Head. The infrastructure was collapsing. Teachers and learners were transferring termly. Fr Dzeka was appointed priest in charge. The school managed to build:
- huts for teachers
- Classroom blocks
- Toilets
- A semi detached teacher’s house is under construction.
Currently Fr Zengeya is currently priest in charge of the school. It has 7 staff members and 321 learners
