CCJP

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe (CCJPZ) was formed by the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference in 1972 to address matters of human rights, justice and peace.

Overview

The Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP) Masvingo is a key commission operating within the Catholic Diocese of Masvingo. Its primary mandate is to promote justice, peace, social cohesion, human rights, good governance, and reconciliation throughout the Diocese.

CCJP achieves its mission through collaboration and partnerships with diocesan and parish structures, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), faith-based organizations (FBOs), local leaders and authorities, community-based organizations (CBOs), and grassroots structures. The Commission also receives support and guidance from influential well-wishers who provide advice and resources.

Grounded in the Social Teachings of the Church (STCs), CCJP maintains an apolitical stance while effectively influencing initiatives that foster justice and peace within the Diocese.
