The Catholic Diocese of Masvingo recently celebrated the 25th Priestly Anniversary of its beloved shepherd, Rt. Rev. Bishop Raymond T. Mupa, in a joyous and memorable celebration that brought together the Catholic faithful from across Zimbabwe and beyond.
The Silver Jubilee celebration was graced by the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio to Zimbabwe, Archbishop Janusz S. Urbanczyk, and the Bishop of Gweru Diocese, Rt. Rev. Rudolf Nyandoro, who joined the Diocese of Masvingo in celebrating this significant milestone in Bishop Mupa’s priestly journey.
The celebrations were further honoured by the presence of the Hon. Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Constantino G. Chiwenga, who also recently became a full member of the St Joseph Guild. His presence added to the significance of the occasion as the Diocese gathered to honour Bishop Mupa’s 25 years of faithful service to God and His people.

The Silver Jubilee celebration was truly a remarkable gathering, drawing a large number of priests, religious brothers and sisters, and lay faithful from the eight Catholic dioceses of Zimbabwe, as well as guests from beyond the country’s borders.
The celebration provided an opportunity for the faithful to give thanks to God for the gift of Bishop Mupa’s priestly ministry and to acknowledge his years of service to the Church. It was also a moment of fellowship, prayer and thanksgiving, as members of the Catholic community came together to celebrate their shepherd and the grace of his 25-year priestly journey.
The presence of clergy, religious and lay faithful from different dioceses demonstrated the bonds of communion and fraternity that unite the Catholic Church in Zimbabwe.
As the Diocese of Masvingo marked this important milestone, the Silver Jubilee stood not only as a celebration of the past 25 years, but also as an occasion to look forward with renewed faith and hope to the years of ministry and service that lie ahead.

The Catholic Diocese of Masvingo continues to give thanks to God for the gift of Rt. Rev. Bishop Raymond T. Mupa, praying that God may continue to strengthen, guide and bless him as he carries out his ministry as shepherd of the Diocese.
