SOCCOM
Overview
The Social Communications Department (SOCCOM) serves as the central hub for promoting the Diocese’s mission and values through strategic communication. It serves to effectively share the Church’s pastoral evangelism, humanitarian and developmental initiatives with diverse audiences, both within the Church and in the wider community. SOCCOM is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that align with the Diocese’s vision and mission. The department creates compelling, faith-based content, including articles, features, graphics, and multimedia, capturing the life and values of the Church. It documents and reports on diocesan programs, transforming initiatives into engaging narratives and visuals that inform, and inspire deeper community engagement. In Masvingo, the Commission publishes a flagship newsletter, Pataveri, which is distributed widely to reach different audiences through multiple media platforms, including print, electronic and social media.
The commission manages and expands the Diocese’s digital presence, overseeing websites, social media platforms, and online communities. It also designs and publishes visually appealing print and digital materials, including newsletters, bulletins and reports. The department also promotes the Diocese’s work to donors and the broader public while identifying opportunities for funding, grants, and strategic partnerships to sustain communication initiatives.
