Nyaningwe High School

Historical Background

Nyaningwe high school is a Catholic day school  offering secondary education from firm 1-6 to both boys and girls. It enrolls Catholics as well as non Catholics. It is 70 km from Masvingo town. After 46 km along the Masvingo- Beitbridge highway, turn right into the Gweru- Shurugwi road. 22km from the turn – off the school is to the left at Chivi Growth point.

The school was founded in 2001 as a product of an all stakeholders meeting which approved The Catholic Diocese of Masvingo as the Responsible Authority. Rev Fr Guido Zanetti  SMB  saw to the infrastructural development of the school. The school started with 143 learners of which the majority were girls  and a teaching staff complement of 4. The school was awarded A Level status in 2005 but saw its first class in 2006.

His Lordship Right Rev. Bishop Michael D. Basera on 15 October 2010. The current enrolment stands at 688 boys and girls and a staff complement of 30
